A FEW WORDS FROM FRED

This is my attempt at giving you some advise and to express my feelings on the Jack Russell Terrier.  After extensive research I purchased Budd Boy as an eight week old puppy.  He has brought hours of fun into my life and has single handedly brought me back years.  For in his daily antics, typical of this breed, I can see my self as a young fellow knowing no limits and fearing little.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained and if your fast enough ,  nothing lost.

To help vent this bundled energy, that comes with every Jack Russell, I  turned to "Agility" training.  This sport will keep your JR from chewing up your favorite chair, digging a hole in you mattress or getting a hold on the corner of your newly installed carpet and while tugging, tearing, and chewing he pulls it to meat the corner on the other side of the room.  Needless to say anything on the carpet goes too. (These things actually happened to a few unknowing owners)

I am sided towards the long legged square model between ten and thirteen inches tall.  They must have straight strong legs, well proportioned body and head to match.  They must love the water, be good swimmers and also be able to run the marathon.  Although the Tri face with black body markings catches my eye the color doesn't hold a whole lot of value.  What doesn't show up at a distance can be seen at a glance when face to face with this breed.  The eyes are full of fire and the expression is like......... "What are you waiting for", "Give the command!",  "Lets go do something!", "Now what's the matter !",  "A cat, where?!", "Can I scare it?",  "Why not??"

I like animals and feel for them all, including cats, but if you are thinking of getting one of these cute little white dogs you've seen on TV, at the movies or in Vogue beware.  They are working dogs, hunters, and can be nasty!!
